Compensation and Benefits

 

In addition to a specified salary or hourly rate wages, full-time employees receive the benefits shown below. Details of the benefits and eligibility are available in the various Plan documents which will be provided at the time of an offer of employment.

Medical and Vision Insurance
From April 1, 2009, we offer employees fully paid premiums on Health Net's Advantage A-15-250-2-2500 medical plan, which includes vision, alternative care (chiropractor, massage, acupuncture, naturopath), $15 office visit co-pays, a $250 deductible per person, a $2500 annual out-of-pocket maximum per person, and an unlimited lifetime maximum. This is a Preferred Provider (PPO) plan with reduced coverage for out-of-network providers.

Dental Plan
From April 1, 2011, we offer employees fully paid premiums for United Concordia dental coverage.

Flexible Spending and Transportation Plans
Pre-tax deductions for reimbursement of eligible out-of-pocket medical expenses, dependent medical premiums, dependent care expenses, and commute transportation (parking, transit passes and bicycle commute) expenses.

Group Life Insurance / AD&D Insurance
Basic Coverage of $50,000, with an additional $50,000 paid if death is by way of accident, and a further $50,000 if death occurs in a car accident while wearing a seat belt.

Long-Term Disability Insurance
Plan benefit of 60% of salary to maximum $5,000 for non-attorneys or $8,000 for attorneys, following 90 days of disability.

Retirement Plan
Eligibility after one year employment
401(k) elective deferrals
Profit Sharing Contribution, up to 3% based on profitability

Holidays
Eight to nine paid holidays per year.

Non-Attorney Paid Time Off
Paid Time Off is used for all paid absences except parental leave and bereavement leave.

Years of Service PTO Accrual

0-5                       120 hours per year
6-9                       160 hours per year
10-14                   200 hours per year
15+                      240 hours per year

Extended Leave
Non-attorneys are eligible for a paid extended leave after ten years of service.

Attorney Sick and Vacation Leave
Reasonable time off for vacation and illness plus Associate unpaid leave of absence program.

Shareholder Sabbatical Program
Sabbaticals available to shareholders who have been with the firm, either as an Associate or Shareholder, for ten years, and then every seven years thereafter.
